It’s the perfect task to keep in your back pocket to keep them occupied – things to do on a rainy day. An online tour for kids is just what we all need right now. Look at is as a family bonding experience, right! Have I mentioned that these are all FREE?

1. Arches Park

4. Great Wall Of China

This was actually really nice for me to see because I was two seconds away from extending my trip in Shanghai and flying to see the Wall. But I never made it. So, I personally was thankful for this virtual view.

5. Smithsonian Museum

If you are looking for dinosaurs, you have to go and check out the Smithsonian. Their virtual tours allow visitors to take self-guided, room-by-room tours of select exhibits – but they are all worth it! I think your children will really like this one!!

6. Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park

Korea? I can’t say I have any plans to head to Korea this year. How FABULOUS that we still get to appreciate and enjoy their endless work of art! Thank goodness for technology! I’ve already gone through 30 minutes of this particular museum and it was stunning.

I can’t have a list of virtual class trips and not include the Grand Canyon, right. I had the chance to visit the Grand Canyon a few years back and it was a MOMENT. Apparently, I’m afraid of heights. I didn’t know that until that trip. LOL!

This is a must see – either way. In your lifetime, you should absolutely make the trip. But never let go of your kids’ hands. There are no barriers. Did you know that?

15. Van Gogh Museum – Amsterdam

I’ve been to the Van Gogh museum as well. If you know anything about his life, you will appreciate the scale of this collection. After you do one of these walkthroughs, maybe have your children try to replicate one of the drawings. That would be fun!

17. View The Egyptian Pyramids

To be honest with you, I went through 10 different sites trying to find a great virtual tour of the Pyramids and none really worked. They all either had 4 minutes of video ads that you had to sit through or were just pictures that you clicked through- one at a time. That’s not a virtual tour if you ask me???

Yosemite National Park is in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains.best know for an abundance of sequoia trees and the Bridalveil Fall. If you can’t make it outside one day, have a virtual walk with the family through Google Earth.

19. Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, Netherlands

Here is a street tour view of a museum in Amsterdam. Anything to get the kids excited about roaming around a bit online. Ask them to see if they can find a cat around Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam if their attentions start to waver at this point. STAY WITH ME!

The very last museum I have for you today to help you when you are stuck at home with the kids is the Pergamon. It focuses on Ancient Greek art and history. PHEW!
