It’s hard to pass up slow-cooked beef in a thick broth with egg noodles. In fact, this beef noodles recipe is something I crave a few times a year. You don’t need many ingredients to make sure you get the flavors just right which makes this dish a mom favorite.

Ingredients: 

  • 2 lbs, beef stew meat
  • 1/2 large onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 package, 1 oz, dry au jus seasoning
  • 1 package, 1 oz, dry brown gravy mix
  • 2-1/2 cups beef broth cornstarch slurry: 2 tablespoons cornstarch, mixed with 1/4 cup cold water
  • 8 ounces, egg noodles, cooked and kept warm chopped fresh parsley

How To Cook Slow Cooker Beef With Noodles:

Add beef, onion, garlic powder, au jus, and brown gravy to a slow cooker and mix well. Add broth and cover. Heat on high for 4 hours, making sure mixture is boiling and bubbly. Add cornstarch slurry to thicken the mixture.

Fold in prepared noodles and mix well. Serve immediately topped with chopped fresh parsley if desired. This recipe serves 4.

Tips For This Dish

  • If you’d like to make this a creamier meal, consider adding ½ cup heavy cream towards the tail end of your cooking time. When you have 20 minutes left on your clock, pour in the cream and it will change the flavor profile of the traditional meal.
  • I typically use beef stew meat when making this dish, but you could always try a more expensive cut.
