No-Fuss French Onion Beef Casserole Recipe

French onion beef casserole has all the flavors you crave from the traditional classic soup, but is transformed into a noodle hot dish! I love to make this comfort food option whenever my family is looking for a heartier meal.

What ingredients are needed to make a french onion beef casserole? You will need egg noodles, onions, Worcestershire sauce, mushroom soup, and french onion dip. Combine together and bake for about 25 minutes to enjoy these classic winter flavors.

No-Fuss French Onion Beef Casserole Recipe

There are many different variations to the beef casserole recipe online. Truth be told, my version is simple and quick. The chip dip ingredient offers up a variety of flavors that will really add dimension to your dinner. I hope you try it!

I usually opt for this hot dish dinner idea on nights where I am just spent, but still want to cook dinner for the kids. No fuss, but lots of great flavors and textures.

Ingredients: 

  • 10 ounces egg noodles, cooked, drained, and kept warm
  • 1lb Niman Ranch ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder salt and pepper
  • 1 can, 10.5 oz, cream of mushrooms soup
  • 1 can, 15 oz, French onion Chip Dip (not refrigerated)
  • 1 jar, 6 oz, French fried onions

How To Make French Onion Beef Casserole

Preheat oven to 350 and grease a 9×13 baking pan. Pour noodles in the pan and set aside.  Add beef, onion, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder to a skillet.

Heat over medium-high heat, stirring frequently until beef is cooked completely. Drain grease. Season with salt and pepper.

Add soup, chip dip, and half of the french fried onions and mix well. Pour on top of pasta and mix well.

Spread evenly in the pan. Sprinkle with remaining french fried onions.

Bake for 20-25 minutes or until bubbly and heated through. Serve immediately.

Variations

  • Consider swapping out the ground beef for ground turkey or ground chicken.
  • How about using different types of pasta shapes? Consider bow tie, fusilli, or any of your favorite styles.
  • Want to add a bit of cheese? Consider 2 cups of cheddar cheese.
  • Don’t forget the side salad and a loaf of bread. You will have a complete meal and leftovers for tomorrow.
