We love to make this dish for a busy weeknight dinner. Serve alongside green vegetables (I like green beans) or an easy Caesar salad and enjoy. If you’d like, keep a few crispy fried onions on the dinner table for guests to tip their dishes with in case they are looking for additional crunch. Add this hearty casserole to your rotation and watch it become one of your favorite recipes to make!

I couldn’t resist adding this spin on Beef Stroganoff to the mix!

Different Variations

  • Consider swapping out the ground beef for lean ground beef, ground turkey or ground chicken.
  • How about using different types of pasta shapes? Consider bow tie, fusilli, or any of your favorite styles.
  • Want to add a bit of shredded cheese? Consider 2 cups of cheddar cheese. Or swap for swiss cheese… or gruyere cheese.
  • Don’t just use regular onions, start with caramelized onions.
  • Don’t forget the side salad, your favorite veggies, and a loaf of bread. You will have a complete meal and leftovers for tomorrow.
