Does The Pasta Actually Cook In The Crock Pot?

I know – it feels crazy, right? Putting in uncooked pasta and then knowing that it is going to come out all perfect and yummy and gooey. But, trust me, give this recipe a shot and throw in your pasta raw.

Like I mentioned, there are so many recipes online that call for the cook to make pasta in a pan on the stove FIRST and then place the already cooked pasta in their crockpots. I’ve read them all and I got so tired just thinking about it.

I hate using my crockpot whenever recipes ask me to saute things or brown things or boil things. Isn’t that the beauty of the slow cooker? That it is supposed to do all of that for us?

Just throw the uncooked pasta in your slow cooker and let’s have fun.

Can I Use Different Cheese Than What Is Suggested?

Yes. If you have a preferred cheese that you’d like to use instead of what is listed above, go for it. Want to us Velvetta or Swiss or whatever your pleasure is – I am here for you. Enjoy! Swap away.

What Can I Add To My Recipe?

Dealers choice! Think about when you go to a restaurant and they get all fancy with their mac and cheese recipes. What are some of the things they add?

Buffalo chicken, parmesan cheese, broccoli, or any vegetables for that matter, cooked lobster, maybe even a few scoops of guacamole? It’s up to you.

You can add in your addition to the slow cooker mac and cheese when you have about 40 minutes left on your timer. That should give it enough time to cook through.
