A hearty meal that won’t take up much of your time thanks to your crockpot. Fresh ingredients and a full belly. My kind of meal.

Slow Cooker Sweet Potato Stew Recipe

This slow cooker recipe is one of those “dump and forget” kind of meals. You place everything into your slow cooker and you move on with your life. BLISS!

Not a lot of searing or browning involved since this is a vegetarian option. The only work you have to do is towards the end of the recipe where you need to mash the sweet potatoes.

But by that time, they will be super soft from the crockpot. I have a feeling you will be coming back to this one over and over again.

Can We Talk About The Peanut Butter In This Sweet Potato Stew Recipe?

Yes, there is peanut butter in this sweet potato stew recipe. I know that this ingredient is rather unusual, but I want you to try it before you dismiss and omit.

Please make this recipe one time as is and then let me know what you think. The peanut butter gives the sweet potato stew an added layer and texture that I just love. Don’t knock it until you try it! 😉

What Can I Serve With My Sweet Potato Stew?

When I make stew for my family, I usually just bring home a fresh loaf of bread. I don’t think you need much more than that. The kids love to dip their piece into their bowls and call it a day. Super easy!
