So, I’ve written about my turkey chili recipe a billion times. I KNOW! I KNOW! But this is totally different. I promise. This Slow Cooker Turkey Chili is from Weight Watchers and is made using a slow cooker. Woot! Whip out your crockpot and get started on this winter treat.
• 1 lb. turkey chop meat
• 1 onion (diced)
• 1 red pepper (chopped)
• 1 green pepper (chopped)
• 2 carrots (diced)
• 2 garlic cloves (finely chopped)
• 1 can pinto beans (drained and rinsed)
• 3⁄4 cup BBQ sauce
• 1/3 cup tomato paste (I just use the whole 6 oz can)
• 1/3 cup water
• 1-3 Tb. chili powder
• 1⁄2 tsp. ground cumin
• 1⁄2 tsp. oregano
• 1⁄2 tsp. salt
Brown turkey in a pan and drain it. Add all the ingredients to the slow cooker and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-5 hours. If it gets dry add a little water. Serve with bread. I prefer Ciabatta garlic bread.
