Good selfcare is really important and encouraged daily. It will improve your overall mood and reduced anxiety over time. This isn’t something that will happen overnight.

The easiest way to practice self care is to make it a priority in your life. Downloading this daily self care checklist is an absolute start. Once you decide that you need to do this as part of your routine, it will become second nature.

Have you heard of a self care box before? This is for people who are filled with anxiety or sadness and are looking for some sort of relief. It is a great idea to create one of these for yourself should you ever find yourself in this emotional state.  

A self care box should contain things that will help you either calm down or recharge. Personally, this might be my gratitude journal, a candle, a crystal, photos of my children, and a bottle of water.

There are pretty much 5 different areas of self care that all people need to adress on a regular basis:

When you lack in one area, it is very noticeable. A lot of people have dropped spiritual self care and I feel that they are doing a disservice to themselves. I won’t get too deep into this, but to have true balance, you need to address all 5 areas in your life.

There is this falsehood that self care is selfish. How silly! Women are raised to believe that taking care of themselves means that they are not taking care of their children and I cannot stand it.

If you take care of yourself then you will be able to serve your children BETTER. A car cannot run on steam… it runs on gasoline! FUEL UP!

How can I practice self care daily?

Besides using my daily self care printable, you can choose a routine that flows positivity into your life. Walk past gardens instead of alleyways. Surround yourself with friends that spark joy instead of gossip mavens. Eat the salad (and the donut – that’s ok every now and then too girl – I’m not a monster).

Love yourself – that’s the point. LOVE YOURSELF enough to acknowledge that you need this.

How do I write a self care plan?

As mentioned above, I would love it if you created your own self care plan because I believe that everyone needs something a little different. Maybe you need a morning prayer instead of meditation. I wouldn’t know that about you – only you would.

Identify what stresses you out and remove those items from your life. Identify why brings you joy and add those factors in – with abundance. It’s really that simple. Then use this daily self care checklist to stay on top of. it all.
