cherry bars

Personally, I love the way cherry desserts turn out. That’s why I have plenty of them on the blog. There’s my 5-Minute No Bake Cherry Cheesecake Dip Recipe, or my Cherry Cheesecake Recipe, and we can’t forget about my favorite Cherry Cookie Recipe. I just posted about Cherry Cheesecake Brownies, too! Hope you check those out.

We are such huge fans of cherries and using them in desserts because you can keep pie filling or maraschino cherries on hand without worrying so much about expiration dates. I love pulling from my pantry!

Spread 2/3 of the batter into the bottom of the prepared pan. I like to cover my hand with a sandwich bag generously sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Use the covered hand to press the dough into the bottom of the pan.

Top with cherry pie filling, spreading cherries in a single layer. Place teaspoon sized dollops of remaining dough on top of the cherries.
