White Chocolate Pretzel Brownies

Before we get started with the ingredients list, I do want to say that if you are missing pretzels and want to substitute with something else salty, go right ahead! Mix and match and use what you have in your pantry. Have a little fun when coming up with your brownie design. And if you have little ones, get them involved. This is the type of dessert that small hands would absolutely LOVE to create. My daughter is 13 and she LOVES making desserts like this one.

How To Make White Chocolate Pretzel Brownies

Heat oven to 350 and grease a 9×13 pan with nonstick cooking spray. Add melted butter, sugar, and vanilla to a medium bowl and mix well. Stir in eggs. Stir in the rest of your dry ingredients – flour, baking cocoa, baking powder,¬†and salt – and then mix well.

Add half of the pretzel pieces and half of the white chocolate chips and mix well. Pour the chocolate mixture into a prepared pan as an even layer. Sprinkle top of the batter with remaining pretzels and white chocolate chips. Sprinkle with holiday sprinkles.

Heat for 22-28 minutes or until the center of the brownies is set. Cool completely on a wire rack before cutting into 24 bars with a serrated knife.

Variations and Tips

  • Consider starting off with a Betty Crocker Brownie mix if you don’t have time to make this dessert from scratch. Box mixes are always great to keep on hand in a pinch.
  • Add a bit of dark chocolate, sea salt, cocoa powder, unsweetened chocolate, creamy peanut butter, or brown sugar to change the flavor profile of this recipe.
  • Start off with mini pretzels and skip worrying about breaking up whole pretzels.
  • Top with salted caramel sauce! I am a firm believer that more is more when it comes to this dessert. In fact, it’s such a perfect treat to have the children help bake because it is all about messy fun.
  • Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream to truly transform this dish into something special. As far as sweet treats are concerned, my kids love this dish the best.
  • Consider baking with parchment paper for easy clean up.
  • When ready to store, use an airtight container or wrap in aluminum foil. You can keep this on your counter at room temperature. The next time you eat this dessert, it will be just as good as the day you made it.

Once you bite into the layers of pretzels, you will understand why this is one of my favorite brownie recipes. Especially during the holiday season, thanks to the red and green sprinkles. This dish is perfect for a hostess treat or an afterschool snack. Up to you!
