This beach scavenger hunt for kids is exactly what you need for your next day by the ocean. This activity will keep your littles engaged and entertained as they dig their toes in the sand looking for an adventure.
Such a great family fun activity! When we visit at night, the entire family usually does it together – somewhat of a family bonding experience. Although, to be honest, I don’t help very much because I could wrap this list up in about 2 minutes.
Instead, I let the kids do all the exploring. I love to watch as they run around searching for every line item. My favorite part about being a mom is watching the world through the eyes of my children.
If you are heading out with friends, consider bringing several copies for every child who is meeting up with your group. With searchable items like sandcastles, beach towels, and seagulls, the kids team up or compete! That’s up to them.
Laminate This Beach Scavenger Hunt Printable For Kids
As a Long Island resident, we spent a lot of time at the beach. I wanted to do something new this year for my little guy and thought a beach scavenger hunt would do the trick.
Here is a tip! Get this page laminated and keep it in your beach bag! That way, your children can play this game every single time you guys head out for some sun. Bonus – you won’t have to print additional copies which saves your color ink!
The laminated copy can sit at the bottom of your beach bag. Whatever sand gets thrown on the page will wash off with ease. Reuse! Reuse! Reuse!

Beach Scavenger Hunt Clues
So, what will your children search for during your next weekend visit to the sea? Let’s break down the list!
- Shell
- Bottle
- Feather
- Seaweed
- Sandcastle
- Beach Towel
- Flip Flops
- Sunglasses
- Beach Ball
- Pail
- Seagull
- Waves
I wanted to add things like food carts and surfers… but we all don’t live by large establishments like that. I know my local town hub doesn’t have FOOD! So, I wanted to make this hunt universal. I have a feeling your kids will find everything that I listed above without a problem.
If they can’t find a sandcastle… they can make one! LOL!! And a beach isn’t complete without a few seagulls, right?
