I heard that Dunkaroos are back and that sparked my interest in making this Funfetti dip for my kids to try at home. In the early 2000s, when I was younger, I used to eat Dunkaroo dip all the time as part of my lunch in school. The original Dunkaroos were such a childhood favorite of mine.
Today, kids can enjoy this easy dessert dip with apple slices, vanilla wafers, their favorite cookies, or a lot of teddy grahams. It’s such a simple dish to make if you happen to have cake mixture in your pantry. All you need to add is a bit of cream cheese, Cool Whip, and some extra sprinkles.

How To Make Dunkaroo Dip
In a large bowl, combine Cool Whip and cream cheese until completely blended with an electric mixer. Then add the Funfetti cake mix and milk. Combine fully.
If you’d like, you could add a 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract to give it a bit of a kick, but I don’t always do this. Transfer the mixture into a bowl and top with rainbow sprinkles. Serve with desired crackers or cookies.

What Should I Serve With Funfetti Dip?
There are so many different choices to serve with Funfetti dip. I like to use Nilla cookies as you can see! But you could consider using Oreos, Teddy Grahams, pretzels, graham crackers, apples, strawberries, animal crackers, pineapples, marshmallows – the choices are endless! Perfect for birthday parties, an upcoming baby shower, or even an after-school snack.
How do I make the chocolate version?
If you’d like to try to make the chocolate version, simply replace the white cake mix with a chocolate flavor – like Devil’s Food Cake – and substitute out the plain Cool Whip for the Cool Whip Mix-Ins Double Chocolate Brownie Whipped Topping instead. It’s available at Walmart. If you can’t find that, just use regular Cool Whip.
How Long Does Funfetti Cake Mix Dip Last?
I like to make Funfetti cake mix dip right before I serve it. But you could actually make this a day or two ahead of time and it would stay just fine. Just be sure to place this yummy dip in an airtight container to store. The good news is that this homemade Dunkaroo dip takes about five minutes to make, so consider making it right before serving!
