Do you have a vision board in your home office? It’s absolutely critical that you do. A vision board helps you see the big picture, gain inspiration during times when you are in a creative slump, and brings a little sunshine to a space that might otherwise feel a bit gloomy. Vision boards could be anything and everything you want them to be. Consider filling up your space with family photos, magazine clippings, inspirational quotes, or hand-drawn lesson plans – the world is yours for the taking… and making!
All you really need to get started is a cork board and a few thumbtacks. Of course, you can get fancy with your selections. I wouldn’t expect anything less. There are plenty of options online from Etsy, eBay, and Amazon. Plenty of sellers offer up delicate designs or gold-plated options. Personally, if I could, I would have my entire office dipped in gold. But hey, that’s just me.
Check out this conversation I had with Audrey McClelland about vision boards and take a look at one that she made a few years ago. She still uses it today.
In all honesty, you should really update your vision board as frequently as you can. Every season would be ideal. As you reach your goals, you should remove items from your list and replace them with new adventures.
Personally, my vision board is spread out throughout my office. It’s almost as if I tripped and everything that should be in one place simply splattered throughout. In the video, I show you some of the quotes I have set up all over my office. It’s all about inspiration and motivation when you work from home. What will keep you on track? What will keep you going to push that hustle forward?
