Personally, I suffer from a wide variety of skin issues – including rosacea. When it comes to my face, I always have to make sure that I choose natural scrub masks that are both calming and soothing. 

Oatmeal can both soften and moisturize your skin. When you combine it with honey, you will be ahead of the game. That’s why this oatmeal honey scrub is such a treat.  

There are so many other benefits to using oatmeal as part of your beauty routine. Have you ever taken an oatmeal bath before? You should! Calming and relaxing on the skin, body, and soul. 

How To Create Your Oatmeal Scrub Made With Honey

Ingredients:

  • 1 packet of plain instant oatmeal (cook as directed and let cool)
  • 1 teaspoon of honey
  • a small additional bowl of honey

How to Apply Your DIY Oatmeal Mask

Cook your instant oatmeal according to the package’s instructions. You can use either milk or water. That’s entirely up to your preference. Allow to cool completely before applying to skin. Before application, be sure to mix in 1 teaspoon of honey.

While you are waiting, take a small bowl of honey and apply a thin layer to your clean face. Now, apply your oatmeal mask – a fine layer. 

Allow to rest on your skin for about 10-15 minutes. Be sure to find a place to relax while the mask properties work their wonder! Rinse thoroughly with water and washcloth. Apply a serum and moisturizer. Enjoy!

How To Make A DIY SUGAR SCRUB – Best Exfoliating Scrub

I suggest you do this at least once a week. While we already talked about a honey face scrub, I think a sugar scrub is just as effective – if not more! Oatmeal masks are calming and sugar scrubs are disruptive. If you have rosacea, do not put this on your face. In fact, anything this rough should be left to the rest of the body. 

You can add any type of essential oils that you’d like to give it a relaxing vibe. That is up to you. I happened to have Eucalyptus on hand and so, that’s what I used. 

Sugar body scrub can be made in batches – so if you’d like, consider creating large volumes of this and giving it out for the holidays! What a wonderful gift idea! This sugar scrub recipe can be changed slightly depending on your mood. Want lavender? Use that instead! 

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 cup of olive oil
  • 5-7 drops of essential oil (I used Eucalyptus)

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix with your hands. Gently scrub your hands and arms as needed. Rinse thoroughly.
