Last week, I was invited to attend a press preview for BurgerFi’s newest Long Island location in Uniondale – right across the street from Hofstra University. I live about 7 minutes away and love a good patty, so of course I couldn’t resist.
I went in expecting a good meal. I mean – it’s burgers, right? I’ve been eating them my entire life. What could they be doing so differently that would WOW me?
Right off the bat, I noticed that BurgerFi has a commitment to freshness that other restaurants simply DO NOT. They use all-natural, free-range beef and their burgers are NEVER frozen or cooked in a microwave oven. They also promise to use cattle that is antibiotic and hormone-free.
There’s the difference, right there. Boom.
But what about the taste?
Well, before I get to taste – I want to talk about presentation. This was the first dish they put out in front of me. I just about hit the floor. The Urban Style Cry + Fry is everything you’ve ever dreamed of and more. I LOVE fries. I mean – talk about a weakness. These hit the spot and then some.
Then we jumped right into the BurgerFi cheeseburger and if I’m being honest with you – this is what I would order every single time. I’m not one that wants a lot of pizzazz on my plate. My husband, on the other hand, would be all about the other options below.
But this Double Natural Angus Burger was just perfect – it was juicy and full of flavor. Right up my alley. I would have been happy with the fries and this burger. LOL! But there was so much more to taste — yes, this all happened in one day. Are you ready for more?
When the Breakfast All Day Burger came out – I literally had to stand up to cut it! LOL! I took a picture and immediately sent it to BILL. HE LOST IT!!! AMAZING.
Bacon, egg, cheeseburger, hash brown and maple syrup all together for your tasting pleasure. It was really good. You know I’m a sucker for bacon.
The most expensive burger on the BurgerFi menu is the The 28 Day. Here’s the official description:
Double natural 28 day dry aged ground brisket, Swiss cheese, blue cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles and BurgerFi® sauce.
I don’t want to say it tasted like a steak… but it felt like one. Does that make sense? It was really soft and juicy and filled with flavor. I’m not a blue cheese fan. In case you aren’t too, just know you can always ask to have specific ingredients removed.
I showed these pictures to my mother and this was her absolute FAVORITE option. I promised to take her next time she was in town because she is a Coney Island kinda girl. LOOK AT THIS HOTDOG. It’s everything! I mean – it has EVERYTHING. 🙂 WOW! I had to cut it into pieces to take a bite. And this isn’t the only hotdog that BurgerFi has to offer – there are PLENTY to choose from!!!
Last but not least, they put out some shakes. They actually turned the shakes upside down to prove that they were “that thick” – and they WERE!! The Frozen Concretes shown above were the a) Red Velvet and the b) Oh My Chocolate. Man – all this recapping has me craving another round. I think I know what I’ll be doing for lunch today. I know my husband will be happy. 😉
Oh and if you have little ones like me, you will be glad to hear that they have a kids menu that includes grilled cheeses and plain burgers.
