Tips and Variations

  • Serve with a dill pickle.
  • Top with sour cream and sprinkle sesame seeds before serving.
  • Substitute out ground beef for ground turkey.
  • You could also serve this dish inside a sesame seed bun. Just be sure to add additional fresh lettuce and special sauce to each bun.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container.
  •  If you don’t have an oven-proof skillet, use a greased 9-10″ square pan or a 10″ deep dish pie plate.
  • While making this recipe, I kept my tater tots frozen.
  • If you’d like to swap out the tater tots for chips, you can get creative and make Big Mac Tater Tot nachos using this recipe.
  • Swap the cheddar cheese for American Cheese or triple cheddar cheese blend.
  • For added flavor, incorporate 1/2 can of cream of mushroom soup. This is a bit different from the traditional version.
