Instructions

Peel and slice your apples and place them in a large bowl. Add two tablespoons of melted butter, the vanilla, and cinnamon. Toss.

Place apples in your air fryer basket and cook at 380 degrees for 10 minutes. You can toss mid-way. Cooking time might vary. Just make sure you cook until each apple is golden brown.

Meanwhile, melt 2 tablespoons of butter and mix with 2 tablespoons of sugar in a medium bowl. Combine. When the apples are done, place them in the butter-sugar mixture and toss your cooked apples until coated. This step provides so much additional flavor and accentuates your favorite apples’ natural sweetness.

Tips and Variations:

  • I’ve seen some people online use coconut oil instead of butter. Consider if you’d like to make the substitution.
  • If you want to ensure crisp apples, then place your apples in a single layer.
  • Top on pork chops, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, or anything in between. It’s a delicious recipe that is very versatile. You could even use this as an apple pie filling.
  • As a breakfast idea, combine oats with these cinnamon apples and enjoy!
  • The best apples to consider are Golden Delicious, Granny Smith Apples, Honey Crisp, or any other favored variety.
  • Top with whipped cream, cinnamon sugar, lemon juice, or caramel sauce. This will be your personal preference.
  • Change the flavor profile of this air-fried baked apple recipe by adding pumpkin spice, apple pie spice, pumpkin pie spice, brown sugar, or maple syrup.
  • Air fryer apple chips make the perfect side dish on their own. Serve alone.

There is so much flavor in cooked apples. If you’ve ever visited Cracker Barrel, you know this is one of their most popular dishes.

The next time you have one of your sweet cravings, consider making this healthy recipe instead. It’s the perfect way to enjoy the Fall season with your family. It doesn’t really matter the type of apples you have at home. Don’t let that stop you!
