Ingredients for Air Fryer Baked Apples

  • 3 large apples
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter (split)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

Instructions

Peel and slice your apples and place them in a large bowl. Add two tablespoons of melted butter, the vanilla, and cinnamon. Toss.

Place apples in your air fryer basket and cook at 380 degrees for 10 minutes. You can toss mid-way.

Meanwhile, melt 2 tablespoons of butter and mix with 2 tablespoons of sugar in a medium bowl. Combine. When the apples are done, place them in the butter-sugar mixture and toss your cooked apples until coated. This step provides so much additional flavor and accentuates your favorite apples’ natural sweetness.

Tips and Variations:

  • I’ve seen some people online use coconut oil instead of butter. Consider if you’d like to make the substitution.
  • Top on pork chops, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, or anything in between. It’s a delicious recipe that is very versatile. You could even use this as an apple pie filling.
  • As a breakfast idea, combine oats with these cinnamon apples and enjoy!
  • Use crisp apple types like Golden Delicious, Granny Smith Apples, Honey Crisp, or any other favored variety.
  • Top with whipped cream.
  • Change the flavor profile of this air-fried baked apple recipe by adding pumpkin spice, apple pie spice, pumpkin pie spice, brown sugar, or maple syrup.
  • Air fryer apple chips make the perfect side dish on their own. Serve alone.

There is so much flavor in cooked apples. It’s the perfect way to enjoy the Fall season with your family. It doesn’t really matter the type of apples you have at home. Don’t let that stop you!
