Air fryer pasta chips are the perfect appetizer to serve to guests when you want to offer a crunchy treat topped with Italian seasoning. I tend to lean towards Italian dishes when hosting, and this latest TikTok trend has been a fan favorite of mine for ages.

You only need a few ingredients to create these bite-sized snacks. Round up a box of pasta, your favorite seasonings, parmesan cheese, olive oil, and your air fryer.

  • 1/2 pound of bowtie pasta
  • 3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Red pepper flakes – optional
  • Jar of marinara sauce for dipping

How To Make Parmesan Pasta Chips

Cook your pasta according to the package directions.

In a mixing bowl, add your cooked pasta, parmesan cheese, and seasoning. Drizzle oil over the top and toss the seasoning blend until combined.

Place pasta in the basket of your air fryer, lining the base until the bottom is filled. It’s ok for the pasta to be touching. Do not layer. The size of your air fryer will determine how many pasta pieces you can fit in a single layer.

Air fry at 400 degrees for ten minutes. Tossing halfway. Cook until the bow tie pasta chips are golden brown.

  • While I typically use fresh garlic when cooking, this recipe requires garlic powder.
  • You can absolutely substitute in whole wheat pasta if that is your preference. Same with gluten-free pasta.
  • Marinara sauce is the preferred accompaniment, but please consider other favorite dips if you’d like to vary the experience.
  • Top with red pepper flakes / red chili flakes.
  • As a reminder, you need to cook your pasta according to the package. Do not place raw pasta in your air fryer.
