By now, I’m sure you’ve heard Nintendo announce that the New Pokémon Snap is coming to the Nintendo Switch. Fans across the LITERAL GLOBE could not help but express their unified happiness while reminiscing about their childhood and how this game played a major part in their upbringing. So, what’s the deal with this new title and what do we know about it so far?

If you’re one of those customers looking to get your hands on the new game, here’s everything I’ve gathered so far about the upcoming title. I’ve had a full-blown discussion with my kids about this video game and needless to say, we are ready for some relaxing fun.
10 Things To Know About New Pokémon Snap For The Nintendo Switch
We are an Animal Crossing: New Horizon household. I’ve posted about Animal Crossing tips before as well as Animal Crossing gift ideas because we are THAT obsessed. BUT that doesn’t mean that we don’t love Pokemon. We’ve been collecting cards for 15 years and counting!
The New Pokémon Snap feels like it has that same vibe. The “NO ONE IS TRYING TO KILL ME I JUST NEED TO RELAX A BIT AND PLAY THIS GAME” vibe and I am here for it.

What Is The Point Of Pokémon Snap?
The entire premise of Pokémon Snap is to fly around your virtual world and take photos of adorable pocket monsters in their natural habitat.

When Was The Game First Released?
Believe it or not, Pokémon Snap was first released for Nintendo 64 way back in 1999. Raise your hand if you had Nintendo 64? How about the original Nintendo? Still up? Me too.

Why Is It Being Released Now?
As you know, there has been a shortage of Nintendo Switches during the last few months because the world has been on lockdown. I was able to literally buy 3 of them for my children because I am psychotic and would wake up at 6AM every morning and check every website on the Internet until I found some available. But, not everyone is dedicated to gaming like I am.
Nintendo now has more people on the Switch than ever before. It makes sense that they are bringing back some of their most beloved titles and recreating them with some incredible updates.
That’s right, Trainers—#PokemonSnapIsBack! #NewPokemonSnap is an all-new adventure inspired by the classic Nintendo 64 game.

What Is The Official New Name Of The Game?
With the new release, the game has been renamed New Pokémon Snap. In New Pokémon Snap, you’ll explore deserts, jungles, and more as you photograph fan-favorite Pokémon and discover never-before-seen Pokémon expressions and behaviors.
So what participating Blockbusters can I go to and dock my Switch into the machine that prints out stickers?

No More Blockbusters!
Original players used to have to go to a Blockbuster to print out the photos they would capture in their gameplay. Some fans online are mourning the fact that they no longer have to do that. Oh, how the times have changed.
When Is The New Pokemon Snap Release Date?
I hate to be the one to give you bad news, but there is no official release date as of yet for this new Nintendo Switch title. We are all waiting for the news. BUT, thanks to digital downloads, we can get it the SECOND it comes out with the click of a button! (which is what we will do)
Where Is The Official Trailer?
I wouldn’t leave you hanging! Here is what Nintendo released this week as far as a gaming trailer – it’s all the visuals we have so far. I AM HERE FOR THIS!
Will There Be Any Battling?
Unlike other traditional Pokemon games which require gamers to fight, you will have a much more peaceful experience with Snap. That’s why I brought up Animal Crossing earlier on in this post. It’s more of an exploratory game where you roam from island to island looking to photograph the different Pokemons you find. Pretend like you are on a safari and enjoy the ride.

Will This Title Be Exclusive To Nintendo Switch?
The answer is yes. You will only be able to play this game on the Nintendo Switch.
Who Is Developing New Pokemon Snap?
The original Pokémon Snap was created by Hal Laboratories and Pax Softnica, but this new version was handed over to Bandai Namco Studios In to complete.
What do you think? Are you ready to give this fun experience a try? I am so excited about this new adventure. I think this could be something your entire family could do together.
