Enjoy a New Year’s Glow Party

Glow sticks and black lights are a fun way to ring in the New Year. Check out the dollar store for a glow stick ring toss or make your own with glow necklaces and bracelets. Turn out the lights, add a couple of black lights and some fluorescent tee shirts that you can decorate with puff paint as a memento. Everything is more fun when it glows in the dark!

Ring in the New Year at 12:00…NOON!

If your children are just too young to manage to stay up until midnight or you don’t want a huge disruption in your sleep schedule, count down to 12:00 noon, instead! A sparkling grape juice toast with lunch and watching a YouTube video of the Times Square Ball Drop will let little ones feel included, without blowing bedtime completely out of the water.

Craft in the New Year

Gather up some crafting supplies and spend the last hours of the year creating fun things to help you celebrate. Make noisemakers from paper plates filled with beads or beans.

Design your own party hats to ring in the New Year. Cut up paper to make confetti and stuff into paper towel rolls, then wrap them up to make poppers. Sure, there will be some cleanup in the morning, but the memories you’ll make will last a lifetime.

New Year’s Family Feast

Send the year off with a delicious feast with the family! Let everyone choose a favorite dish and sit down together to end the year right. For adults, you can go a little fancier with French Onion Soup, filet mignon, and other favorites.

Kids might enjoy homemade pizzas or cheese fries. Just be sure that everyone has a favorite on the table and you’re sure to have a perfect meal together!
