Starlink Battle For Atlas On PS4 Review

Christmas came a little early for my two boys this year as they had the chance to open up and review the Starlink Battle For Atlas for PS4. Yes, they are very lucky! Mom occasionally has to review products for the blog ahead of the holidays which means that they get to open up a few toys before they should.

Well, when I tell you that Caleb and Liam haven’t STOPPED playing Starlink: Battle for Atlas you better believe it. We’ve been knee deep in single player games all year long and it was a breath of fresh air to get a multi-player experience back into the fold. I can’t tell you the last time I saw these two side-by-side in front of the same screen.  Laughing, screaming, cheering – exactly what the doctor ordered!

Starlink Battle For Atlas On PS4 Review

Starlink: Battle for Atlas is an open-world space saga that features modular toy technology that allows players to assemble and customize real-world physical starships, link the starships to their game controller, and launch into an epic adventure across the Atlas star system, either in single player or with a friend in two-player split-screen local co-op.

That’s just a really fancy way of saying they have to build things before they play. So, it’s super hands-on and I just love that. They can touch and feel their spaceships before taking them into orbit which makes Starlink a game like no other.

Each modular component and pilot attached to the starship appears instantly in-game, allowing players to directly affect the course of their battle in a meaningful way. You can create different experiences depending on who you bring into the action. Build up your army – one action figure at a time! Love that.

Available on Nintendo Switch, the PlayStation®4 and Xbox One.

These make the perfect stocking stuffer for the kids in your life that love to game! Every new piece adds on a new layer of fun to Starlink. A new ship means that they can see the game in a whole different way. It really is kind of cool if you think about it. You literally can’t unlock the design without the physical piece.

Play side by side with your best bud or have a solo adventure – that’s up to you! Either way, your job is to save the world!

The game is set in the Atlas star system. Early on in the game, the player’s mothership, Equinox, is ambushed by the Forgotten Legion and crashes on a nearby planet; the captain of the Equinox is taken hostage. The Legion’s leader, Grax, is obsessed with an extinct race called the Wardens, who left much of their ancient technology behind. Grax, who wants to use such technology for his own legion, acts as a constant threat that the player must face throughout their journey.
