Spiced Pear Bread Recipe – The Perfect Winter Treat

This Spiced Pear Bread recipe is absolutely perfect for the winter because it has just the right amount of flavor and sweetness for a dessert. Simple bread recipes are my favorite and adding spiced pears to the mix truly makes the treat that much tastier.

MAYBE you need to run out and get pears. But if you don’t have pears, you could always swap them out for apples instead! Whatever works. As long as you take a chance on this  quick bread recipe, it will be worth it. 

Fresh pear recipes always work for family gatherings – at least they do in my house. We eat them for breakfast, nibble on them around noon, and then whip them out for dessert after dinner. They work all day long!

Pear Loaf Cake Ingredients:

  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 1⁄2 cups pears – peeled, cored and chopped
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

How To Make Pear Bread

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease two 8×4 inch loaf pans In a large mixing bowl, combine oil, sugar, and eggs – beat well.

Stir in pears, pecans, and vanilla. In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir dry ingredients into the pear mixture; mix well. Pour batter into prepared loaf pans.

Bake in preheated oven for 60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center of the pear loaf cake comes out clean. Allow loaves to cool in pans for 10 minutes before moving to a wire rack to cool completely.
