My family has been spending time reading about upcoming plans for NASA and SpaceX. In fact, we even find ourselves tuning into the live feed of the astronauts! Pretty sweet!

In two weeks, yet another SpaceX launch will occur – this time without static fire. It’s amazing how much change has occurred within that program. Elon Musk is bending all the rules as we knew them.

And in other news, NASA’s Kathy Lueders – who was a part of the inaugural private crew last month – has now been named to lead @NASA’s Human Exploration & Operations Mission Directorate.

We read these things and then want to engage our children/ keep them plugged in! That’s why these space activities for kids are the perfect way to keep them curious.

And when you have curious children, the possibilities are endless.

What did you think about these space themed activities?

Children will not know how much they love to do things unless we expand their minds. Maybe you have a rocket builder in your home as well?! Testing out these space-themed activities might help you figure that out.

I know a lot of people are looking for indoor play ideas lately and these all work PLUS they have a science spin. You will even find a few STEM projects sprinkled in, but we don’t have to tell the kids that.

Just let them get their hands dirty while you open up the conversation about the solar system. There are so many space crafts to try out! I can’t wait to get started.

Whether we focus on the phases of the moon, the way the planets look from afar, or simply drawing the constellations in outer space – just remember to keep your children looking up at the stars.
