October Photo Challenge – Photo A Day Ideas Printable

This month, I am gearing up to get ready for an October photo challenge and I would love for you to consider to do the same. There are so many different ways to share these pictures online. The choice is up to you.

Some people love to share their photography skills on Instagram, while others prefer to turn to Facebook and private threads/groups of like-minded individuals. Personally, I love to do a mix of both.

Expression comes in many forms and no matter how you choose to share your creativity, I hope you find this list of subjects useful.

I know, at times I find myself struggling to come up with unique ideas. Here’s a possible solution to help you should you find yourself in the same boat.

Why Participate In A Photo Challenge?

This October photo challenge will keep you on your feet. Hopefully, walking around, enjoying that crisp Fall air, and taking in as much of the beautiful weather as possible.

We all know that winter is right around the corner. Truth be told, I sort of look of October as my way to have a last fling with NYC. Is that crazy? Maybe. But it’s true!

October Photo Challenge – Photo A Day Ideas List

So, what are some things you should consider to photograph in October? If you don’t know where to start, here is a list to get you started.

I’ve added colors, feelings, typical symbols, and holiday favorites. I got as specific to this month as I possibly could.

Do I Need To Follow This List In Order?

No! You do not have to follow this list in any particular order. Consider using this photo list as a checklist that you can work through as you please.

What About Special Equipment?

Absolutely not. If you have a camera, you can participate in any photo challenge on the WEB! Heck, if you still have any of those disposable cameras from CVS (remember those), they would work, too! Anything goes.

And before you start talking to me about manual versus automatic – don’t EVEN. You are overthinking it. Enjoy the journey, my friend.

Tips Before You Begin This October Photography Challenge

Before you start this challenge, here’s my advice, don’t get caught up in perfection. Photography is more about mood and emotion than anything forced.

There are people who are absolute experts in manual mode using $5,000 cameras and a bag full of lenses. And then there are others who can whip out their iPhone and produce an equally compelling shot.

What you have to say is important – that is for sure. But can you say it differently than everyone else who has said the same thing? Are you willing to put in a little work during the post-edit process?

If you can answer yes to those last two questions, then you are good to go! Oh and newsflash – even if you aren’t able to say yes to those last two questions, you STILL are good to go! As long as you are happy with your final product, that’s all that matters.

If this hobby brings you joy, then you are doing it right! Don’t ever let anyone tell you otherwise.

There Is A Reward

Not from me. I don’t want to get you excited. But if you capture all of these pictures and print them in a book, by the end of the year you will have so many amazing memories to look back on.

Be sure to capture your family and friends as you stroll through life documenting all the beautiful things you come across during your day to day activities.
