New Disney Villains Book Series – Cruella De Vil (Giveaway)

Disney Book Group sent me books from the Disney Villains Book Series and teamed up with me for a giveaway!

We all know and love Disney, but do you know the Disney Villain Book Series? My family is just such a huge fan of the movies, the parks, the shows, the apps. Really just about everything! But if you are looking for a new twist on your traditional Disney experience, especially for your kids that are getting a little older (whether you like it or not), I would highly recommend the Disney Villain Book Series.

I mean, rooting for the villain can be fun, too, right? If you can rock the clothes then why not read the books, too! LOL!

Disney Villains Book Series

So, I mentioned how so much of Disney is all about magic and sweet and wonderful characters. That’s so true and that’s why we love it all so. But, let’s face it, the villains have always and will always play a major role in how all of these beloved stories play out. They bring drama, they bring suspense, they bring a little bit of nasty. We know the world has some of that, so why not our fairy tale stories, too, right?

It’s this recognition of the naughty that leads me to my recommendation for the Disney Villains Book Series. Where most Disney Classic titles appeal to younger readers and their love of the good, Serena Valentino’s darkly twisted Villains series is perfect for the older kids that wouldn’t mind a little drama and grit! I’m talking about upper middle-grade, young adult, and even adult audiences. Readers who crave twisted origins will love these wickedly dark tales about classic Disney villains. It’s just a great, great riff on what we all know and love.

Evil Thing Cruella De Vil

The darkly captivating seventh novel in the popular Villains series follows the rise and fall of the deranged and glamorous fan favorite, Cruella De Vil. This is some deliciously scary stuff right here! She is easily one of my favorite fierce villains!

Never before have we gotten Cruella’s perspective on the story of 101 Dalmatians. I mean, maybe she had some good intentions, right? Evil Thing reframes the classic tale from her point of view, as a darkly funny, maniacally mean memoir. Let the woman have her say!!

Readers who crave twisted origins will love this wickedly dark tale, and new readers will find this novel an enticing entry point to the rest of the series.

Cruella De Vil is the perfect villain: stylish, witty, relentless…and possibly cursed. In other words…she’s perfect! She’s someone that you don’t want to like but can’t seem to take your eyes off. She’s certainly interesting, that cannot be denied.

Cruella’s Perspective

From her lonely childhood, to her iconic fashion choices (I would definitely rock a faux fur version of this), to that fateful car crash (you know the one), Cruella tells all in this marvelous memoir of a woman doomed. Even the cruelest villains have best friends, true loves, and daring dreams. Now it’s Cruella’s turn to share hers.

This latest novel by the author of the wildly popular and darkly fascinating Villains series brings readers a tale told by the Evil Thing herself. A tale of the complicated bonds of female friendship, of mothers and daughters, and of burning, destructive desire.

After all, nothing is as simple as black and white. I just love the angle and premise of this book and this series. It’s just so much fun and it’s a wonderful idea.

I absolutely love disney! I have great memories going to disney with my gma as a little girl (on benefit of growing up in Florida). Although I love the princesses the most there is a side to this scorpio that enjoys the villains.
