I Do Believe In Fairies… I Do. I Do.

My mother told me that I watched ‘The Wizard of Oz’ at least a 1000 times when I was younger. Every single day after school – several times in a row. There was something about that film that completely captured me. Well, my children have been watching the 2003 version of Peter Pan ON REPEAT for days. Every so often I hear, “I do believe in fairies. I do. I do. I do believe in fairies. I do. I do.” Always puts a smile on my face.

I Do Believe In Fairies… I Do. I Do.

They get louder and louder too. Liam and Natalie go bananas! I almost think they believe their efforts are bringing Tink back to life. Don’t you just love the innocence of children?  That fairy scene is their absolute favorite part of the movie.

Well, yesterday, I finally decided to sit down and watch the full movie with them. We all cuddled up on the couch and by the last scene, I was hysterical. I mean HYSTERICAL.

There’s a moment when one of the Lost Boys was sad because he couldn’t find his mother. And a neighbor of The Darling family says,

“Then I am your mother”

and the boy says,

“How do you know?”

and the neighbor says,

“Because I feel it in my bones.”

Oh my goodness. My eyes just teared up again. WHAT A LINE. I mean snot rags sticking out of my nose crying. Out of control. I know the Robin Williams version gets a lot of attention, but this one is amazing. If your kids haven’t seen it yet, I suggest you rent it. The Peter Pan (Widescreen Edition) movie is $6.97 on Amazon today. I almost want to BUY it but we have it DVR’d. I might just keep it on my TV forever.
