Why go out and purchase expensive Christmas Bow Boxes when you can make them on your own with the Cricut machine? Remember, this tutorial will show you how to create a Christmas gift box – but if you change out the paper, it can be used for any holiday!! If you can print it, you can cut it with the Cricut Explore machine.

Head over to the Cricut Design Space and go to the Gold Bow Box project that we’re going to create today. The best part about the Cricut Design projects is they’re already completed all you have to do is change the size if you desire and send to cut settings.
Once you find the project linked above click Make it now and that will open a whole new screen in the Cricut Design Space. On your screen you will see the box, lid and bow ready to be cut on your machine. The size of the box is perfect and you don’t need to make it any bigger or smaller. Once you’re happy with your box click the green cricut button to head over to cut settings.
Once you click the green cricut button you will see a pop up that says mat preview. This allows you to see how many mats you are going to be using, different colors as well as size you will be cutting. Also at the very top you can choose how many projects you would like to make. For today I just made one box and it was so easy.
This certain project is going to take 3 pieces of paper set at 12” x 12” and the first cut will be the bow pieces, 2nd cut will be the box and the 3rd cut will be the lid.
This process will walk you through the cutting process. Step 1 is to load your paper into your machine, step 2 is to set your material using the dial on the actual machine and 3rd step is to press Cricut and begin the cut!
Apply you 12” x 12” paper to your cutting mat and feed into the machine keeping your mat between the slotted lines and pressing the arrow to feed in. Once that is locked and loaded you select your material (cardstock) and hit the flashing C “Cricut” Button and the cut will begin. Once the cut is finished press the arrow again and that will unload your paper. Lift your paper off the mat and remove the cut out pieces.
Once all cuts are complete it’s time for assembling. The box and lid are very similar and have tabs that glue from side to side. Just apply a little glue and each tab and glue together until complete. Add the bow if you choose and your box is complete. Fill it with trinkets in your room, candies or gift cards for your loved ones this holiday season. I absolutely love the blue Christmas paper I used and it’ll be great for year round as well. Thanks so much for following along.
