Freecycling is the practice of giving away unwanted items instead of throwing them away. It’s a great way to reduce waste and keep usable items out of landfills. Plus, it’s a great way to get free stuff!
There are many ways to freecycle. You can give away items you no longer need on websites like Freecycle.org or Craigslist. You can also donate items to thrift stores or other charities.
If you have items that are still in good condition but you no longer need them, consider freecycling them instead of throwing them away. It’s good for the environment and it can save you money!
Bringing A Freecycle Program To Your Community
If you don’t already have a freecycling program in your community, there are a few things you can do to start one. First, check to see if there is already a group in your area. If not, you can create a new group on the Freecycle website.
Once you’ve created or joined a group, the next step is to start collecting items. You can do this by asking friends and family members if they have any unwanted items, or by taking items from garage sales or thrift stores.
Once you have a few items, you can start posting them on the Freecycle website. Be sure to include a photo and a description of each item, as well as your contact information.
How To Start To Freecycle
There are a few things you should know before you start freecycling. First, make sure that the item you want to freecycle is actually unwanted. This may seem obvious, but many people mistakenly believe that they need to get rid of an item before they can freecycle it. In reality, you can freecycle anything as long as someone else wants it.
Second, check to see if there are any restrictions on the item you want to freecycle. Some items, such as mattresses and electronics, may have laws or regulations that restrict their disposal. If you’re not sure whether an item can be legally disposed of, check with your local government or waste management authority.
Finally, be sure to list your items in the appropriate category on the freecycling website. This will help ensure that only people who are actually interested in your items will contact you.
By following these simple tips, you can make sure that your freecycling experience is positive for both you and the people you give you work with.
Freecycle
Over the weekend I learned about a great site called ‘Freecyle‘. Basically, you join a community and list anything you were thinking of throwing away so other families can make use of your unwanted items. Instead of filling up our landfills with quality items – why not give them to someone who could make use of it?!
Everything is FREE by the way. This isn’t like eBay where you are selling and buying. It’s literally all about recycling… I mean FREEcycling. LOVE IT. From ice buckets to ceiling fans to Graco baby seats – whatever you want someone is surely ready to give away. Click here to check it out.

Awesome, thanks for the plug! I started a local group in my town a few years ago, we have over 5,000 members just in my city now. Great way to find, and get rid of stuff. Love it!
