Everything I Wish I Knew Before Going To Splish Splash

I’ve been going to Splish Splash since I was in high school, so I like to think I know a thing or two about this place. Last week I went again, and I still managed to learn a handful of things that would’ve made past-me’s life a whole lot easier. So I’m putting them all in one place, because summer is short and you deserve to spend less of it standing in line and more of it actually having fun.

Here’s everything worth knowing before you go.

1. Get the H2Go Pass. Seriously.

This one changes everything. The H2Go Pass lets you spend less time waiting in line and lets you reserve a window to ride your favorites. No standing around, no wasting your morning on one ride. Everything runs off your wristband, so you’re not fumbling with your phone or a paper ticket while your kid is melting down in the sun. It’s the difference between a good day and a great one.

2. Neon Nights are a whole different park

If you’ve only been during the day, you’re missing out. On select Fridays and Saturdays from July 4 through August 15, Splish Splash transforms into Neon Nights from 7–10 PM. Think glowing lights, a live DJ, and nighttime rides! It’s a separate ticketed event, but it’s absolutely worth checking out, especially if daytime heat isn’t your thing (same, honestly).

3. There are more rides than you’d think

I’ve been going for years, and I was still surprised to learn that there are 30+ rides and attractions in the park. So even if you think you’ve “done it all,” you probably haven’t.

4. Cabanas are the move if you’re anti-social like me

Private cabanas give you a shaded home base for the day, which alone is worth it. But the real win is being able to order food straight from a QR code. You genuinely don’t have to leave your spot. As someone who does not love mingling in a crowd, this was my favorite discovery of the trip. HA!

5. There’s a Rainy Day Guarantee

The weather has been unpredictable lately, to put it mildly, so this one’s a relief. Splish Splash offers a Rainy Day Guarantee if bad weather interrupts your visit. It’s a small thing, but it takes the stress out of booking a day in advance and hoping for the best.

6. Check the hours before you go

Park hours vary by date. During peak summer, it’s generally open 10 AM–6 PM, with extended hours on select days. Always check the daily calendar before you head out so you’re not planning around the wrong schedule.

My final take

Between the H2Go Pass, the cabanas, and Neon Nights, there’s a version of Splish Splash for every kind of person!! Whether you want to move fast, relax in the shade, or dance under lights after dark. Twenty-plus years in, and it still surprises me.
