Saturday night, Bill and I had a wedding to attend. It was a really special one because my mother and had the mother of the bride in her wedding party. We’ve known this family for a very, very long time. I grew up with this woman… and my mother grew up with her mother. I was SO happy to see this celebration of love. All smiles. All laughs. All hugs. The perfect evening!!
What made it even more special was the fact that it forced Bill and me to get out of the house and hire a sitter. It’s just so easy to take the kids along to dinner, right? But for this wedding, we needed to go on our own. And I was so happy for it! Adult conversation. A sparkly dress and no diaper bag. WOOT!
A little backstory on this dress. I originally bought this dress for ‘Dancing with the Stars’. But I opted for the gold one instead because I realized that you wouldn’t be able to see any of the glam during the interview since I would be sitting down the whole time. The nicest feature of this dress is the SKIRT and it would have been wasted on that opportunity. So, I’ve been sitting on this dress for MONTHS just WAITING for Jen’s wedding!! FINALLY, I got to rip the tags off on Saturday. It’s been hanging on my closet DOOR forever. I didn’t want to put it in the mix because I thought it would wrinkle. Bill was SICK of seeing that Bloomingdales bag. LOL!!!
My mom came too and we sat next to some friends. It was a great night. The place was INSANE — I literally want to have a party there. We have a communion to do in May. SERIOUSLY considering it!! It’s a bit far from my house though… I don’t know. I really don’t know. It was just SO BEAUTIFUL! Maybe I will renew my wedding vows at 15 years? LOL.
Congratulations to Jen and Pete!! We wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!! And thanks for letting us be part of your day.
