In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, I thought it would be fun to share a Copycat McDonald’s Shamrock Shake recipe with you so you can make it for the kids. Only a few ingredients are needed to replicate this delicious dessert – all from the comforts of your own home.

As you know, the McDonald’s Shamrock Shake is only available for a limited time which makes it very special for some customers and fans. My kids usually ask for it a few times a year. So, after some testing, here’s a recipe that is pretty close to the original design.

I hope you enjoy it!! Make sure you have some sprinkles and whipped cream to give it that St. Patty’s feel!!

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Vanilla Ice Cream — go premium (it makes a difference)
  • ½ Cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon. Peppermint Extract
  • 10 drops Green Food Coloring
  • Whipped Cream (to top)
  • Green Sprinkles (to top)

How To Make The Shamrock Shake At Home

  • Place two thick glasses in the freezer for at least 20 minutes.
  • Place the Ice Cream, Milk, Peppermint, and Food coloring in a blender and pulse until smooth. Add additional coloring if desired.
  • Pour the mixture into the chilled glasses. Top with whipped cream and sprinkles.
