Frizzy Hair Beauty Tip From My On-Set Stylist

Do you suffer from frizzy hair because I do? A few weeks ago, I hosted a cooking demonstration for Master Chef season 4 winner, Luca Manfe and I started to complain about my frizzy hair and how hard it is to manage my locks.  I got a little friendly with the makeup artist that was assigned to my mug behind-the-scenes and we spent a lot of time chatting during our downtime. She had no problem spending the morning talking about her favorite HD primer and volumizing mascara.

I was in HEAVEN! The conversation also revolved around hair care products and styling tips. As someone who has suffered from frizzy hair her own life, you know I was taking notes!

Frizzy Hair Beauty Tip From My On-Set Stylist

Brazilian Blowout Anti-Frizz Shampoo & Conditioner

When she isn’t doing makeup, she is actually a hair stylist by trade. So, she was also giving me some hair care tips and you better believe I was writing them down. The best one out of the lot?? To purchase the Brazilian Blowout Anti-Frizz Shampoo & Conditioner 12-ounce bottles FROM Amazon because they are HALF PRICE compared to salon prices.

To use, apply the shampoo and conditioner to wet hair and massage into a lather. Rinse thoroughly. For best results, follow with the Brazilian Blowout Smoothing Treatment. The Brazilian Blowout Anti-Frizz Shampoo & Conditioner is available in 8.5 oz and 33.8 oz sizes.

My Results

This duo completely manages frizz and your hair acts like it just had a Brazilian blowout after you use it for a while. In case you don’t know, the BB is quite pricey and a pain to process but it completely smooths out your locks. I MUCH rather lean on this shampoo and conditioner than worry about dropping $250+ for the process.

The next day, I showed a friend of mine my new little secret on my iPhone and she just about hit the floor. She told me that she LITERALLY bought this set from her salon and they were $35 a BOTTLE. So, it’s TRUE! It really IS HALF OFF on AMAZON!!!!!!! And her salon recommended this brand to upkeep her newly colored hair since it’s sulfate-free.

Get on it ladies!!!  Smooth hair for up to 12 weeks … it’s calling your name. Bye bye frizzy hair and overpriced shampoo from your salon!

What is a Brazilian Blow-Out?

There is something you can do in a salon called the Brazilian Blow Out . This is a chemical treatment that actually changes the structure of your hair. It leaves it smooth, shiny, and very manageable for up to 3 months!

How Does the Brazilian Blow Out Work?

The stylist will start by shampooing your hair with a clarifying shampoo. This removes any buildup in your hair so the treatment can really penetrate each strand. Next, they will apply the Brazilian Blowout solution to your hair and comb it through. Once it’s evenly distributed, they will use a flat iron to “seal” it in. The flat ironing part is key – it’s what makes this treatment different from a regular keratin treatment.

After your hair is completely dry and straight, the stylist will rinse out the solution and apply a Brazilian Blowout conditioner. They will let that sit for a few minutes before rinsing it out and blow-drying your hair.

When they are finished, you will have smooth, shiny, frizz-free hair that will last for weeks! Depending on how fast your hair grows, you can expect the treatment to last 8-12 weeks.

Is the Brazilian Blowout Safe?

The short answer is yes – the Brazilian Blowout is safe. It has been tested and reviewed by several different organizations, including OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration).

However, there are some people who should not get the treatment. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have had a chemical straightening treatment in the past 6 months, you should not get the Brazilian Blowout.

The main ingredient in the solution is formaldehyde, which has been classified as a carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer. However, the amount of formaldehyde in the solution is very low – less than 0.2%. When used correctly, there is no danger to you or your stylist.

What is the Difference Between a Brazilian Blowout and a Keratin Treatment?

The main difference between these two treatments is the amount of time it takes and the ingredients used. A Brazilian Blowout can be done in about 90 minutes, whereas a keratin treatment can take up to 3 hours.

The ingredients are also different. A Brazilian Blowout uses a solution that contains formaldehyde, whereas a keratin treatment does not. Formaldehyde is what helps the solution penetrate your hair and “seal” in the straightening effect.

Keratin treatments can last up to 6 months, whereas a Brazilian Blowout will only last 8-12 weeks. Brazilian Blowouts are also less expensive than keratin treatments.

How Much Does a Brazilian Blowout Cost?

The cost of a Brazilian Blowout varies depending on the length and thickness of your hair. Generally, you can expect to pay between $150 and $300.

How Should I Care for My Hair After a Brazilian Blowout?

You should avoid washing your hair for at least 48 hours after the treatment. When you do wash it, use a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner. Avoid hot tools and let your hair air dry whenever possible.

You should also avoid chlorine, saltwater, and sweating for the first 5 days. And don’t tie your hair up in a tight bun or ponytail – this can cause the treatment to “slip.”

Overall, you should treat your hair gently for the first week or so after the treatment. After that, you can go back to your normal hair care routine. If you follow these guidelines, you will be able to enjoy smooth, frizz-free hair for weeks!
