There is one thing parents and kids can agree on: first impressions matter! This applies to the first day of school as well, right? Whether it be for photos or simply to feel great, a first day outfit is important for kids.
I’ve teamed up with Lands’ End to create a virtual pop up shop and curated three fab looks that I think would be just perfect for the first day of school. I’ve been patiently waiting for my box of goodies to arrive and they finally DID!
I love clothes that look and feel great, that are “cool” for the kids but also classic enough to outlive the season. Of course, Lands’ End took care of all my needs.
My readers will receive 25% off the looks!!
Can you believe it!? The sale will start on September 1st!!
Here’s a look at the official unboxing and your first sneak peek:
Every item in the Lands’ End back-to-school collection is built to last, with comfort and durability in mind. Plus, each item is stylish, easy to wear and easy-care.
There are so many great clothes to choose from, and they are all exactly what I am looking for. Here are some of my First-Day Faves!!
With so many options from short- and long-sleeved tops to footwear and outerwear, Lands’ End helps families start the year off right with buy-now, wear-now styles that can be layered as the school year progresses. Plan for September, but also plan for January since the stores tend to shelf one season ahead. Think layering people!!
For each of my kids, I made sure that they had a sherpa hoodie. It’s important in the Fall when the weather is still undecided.
Also as a note – when you buy multiple clothes from one retailer they will easily mix and match. The colors were MADE to go with one another. Make it easy on yourself and snag a few different looks at once. Then have fun creating new styles throughout the year. You can’t go wrong!
And don’t forget accessories! Change up the complimentary pieces like the shoes and boots, hats and scarves. Think about how they all look together and how they look separate. I think this is the key to really budgeting well for the year and for not being manic when something comes up…you are prepared for it all!
I also have to focus on affordability. With 3 kids to worry about, you know what I mean. Lands End has a huge selection of Knit Tops Under $20. Knit tops are easy layering pieces that work well under cardigans and Fleece-Lined Sherpa Hoodies. This fall, Lands’ End has even more options for under $20, all constructed with quality and comfort in mind. Look for Super-Ts, Graphic Tees and other stylish options with details such as a soft, rounded hem.
You also have to have input from your kids once they get to a certain age. There’s no way around it. My 9-year-old Natalie, and even my 7-year-old Liam, love to have their say. It just makes life so much easier if you really do listen and factor in their wants and needs, even if it sometimes may not be exactly what you had in mind!! LOL.
To top it all off, Lands’ End can monogram just about anything that will take a stitch. So whether for a backpack or school uniform, parents and kids can select embroidery or a monogram to make it extra special. It costs $6 and takes about 3-5 days.
I love this (and so does 99% of the town I live in – LITERALLY). It just adds that final, personal touch to the look and the outfit/bag. I think it really makes it and it will make your kids feel special, too.
