The Nutcracker And The Four Realms is a movie that just about everyone is dying to see. My 13-year-old daughter is an avid dancer and is literally enlisted in SIX dancing classes this year. Do the math. I could buy a small island off the coast of France for the amount of money I’m putting towards costumes ALONE. But it doesn’t matter because dancing breathes live into her little soul and when I see my baby girl smiling on stage, it brings me so much joy. That’s what life is all about, right? I have a feeling The Nutcracker And The Four Realms will give the audience similar emotions… but with a few more twists. I love a good Disney storyline that has a sprinkle of anxiety and fear. What? We know this tale. My family has seen The Nutcracker at Lincoln Center and it was such a treat. We’ve read this story over and over again. But Disney likes to put our imagination to the test. They like to stretch our memories and twist our dreams. They like to take an old classic and turn it upside down, give it a “what if”, and take fans on an entirely new journey. And you know what? I’m so thankful for it. Sometimes I consider myself a purist. When Hollywood remakes the Goonies I am going to be kicking and screaming on opening weekend!! However, on most occasions, I am always curious to open up that second door and see what mysteries await.

All Clara (Mackenzie Foy) wants is a key – a one-of-a-kind key that will unlock a box that holds a priceless gift. Starring Keira Knightley as the Sugar Plum Fairy, Disney’s new holiday feature film “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” is directed by Lasse Hallström and Joe Johnston, and inspired by E.T.A. Hoffmann’s classic tale.

Here is the trailer for the movie — just in case you haven’t seen it yet! I always love to get a little taste before I dive right in on opening weekend. Honestly, I NEVER MISS watching trailers before the actual movie once I am sitting down in the theatre. That is LITERALLY part of the experience for me. I like to get to the theatre with PLENTY of time to grab my snacks, get into my seat, and get SETTLED before trailer number one hits the big screen.
