What Can I Give The Man Who Wants Nothing? His Family Of Course! #MyShutterfly @Shutterfly

If you ask my husband on any given holiday what he wants me to buy him, his answer will always be the same.

I don’t need anything. I have it all.

And in some essence, he’s right. As a man who has three wonderful children and a wife who loves him unconditionally, there’s really nothing that he needs. But part of the fun of Father’s Day, birthdays and beyond is to express my love in a variety of ways.

To say. To do. And to give.

I love to give! I love to look at his face when I hit the nail on the head, too. I love to surprise my children with their favorite delights. I even love the hunt. It’s truly no trouble at all. Shopping is my favorite pastime after all.

So, this year, I decided to combine our two worlds. For the man that wants nothing and from the woman that wants to buy the perfect gift – I found a happy medium.

I needed to find a site that would allow me to create personalized gifts. I knew the presents I’d create would be cherished by my husband. He is truly a family man. Shutterfly is a site I’ve leaned on over and over throughout the years, so the decision for me was simple. I knew that if I wanted to craft my own designs with little to no effort, there was only one place to go.

Showcasing some of Bill’s favorite people for Father’s Day was a breeze and the variety Shutterfly offers is truly extensive. We are currently redecorating our office and I thought it could use a little love and life. What better way to do that than to use our babies’ faces and smiles? That’s why I started off with these great framed art prints! I was able to create custom collages or highlight my favorite shots on their own. I even added some wording to make my point pop. Just love the way these two frames turned out!

Using Shutterfly.com, I took gifting to the next level and I encourage you to do the same when considering your Father’s Day gifting option.

In addition to the framed art prints, I chose several items for Bill’s desk including this desktop plaque showcasing my husband and our two boys. I loved the heart shape option because it reminded me of love. This moment was really special to us. We were out to brunch with some friends and it was a pretty fancy restaurant. Caleb was literally climbing all over Bill but he didn’t skip a beat. He just kept talking and I couldn’t help but snap the shot because it pretty much summed up our lives as parents. Our children never changed us. We didn’t stop going to the places we like for fear that they would be too noisy. Now, we just roll with the punches. I hoped that Bill would look at that picture and smile.

I wanted personal and heart-felt gifts this year. I wanted to capture the quiet moments and the loud ones. I wanted to freeze moments of inside jokes and simple times – you know, the ones that truly matter the most. Because when everything else crumbles and falls around us, those are the ones we will remember. Not the grand vacations and the elaborate affairs – but the quiet nights by the fire with our children resting by our feet. Another simple picture that I captured and turned into a plaque was one we took while on a family walk. Bill and I are both training for a half marathon, so we love to get everyone outside with us. Nothing like a stroll with the kids! These desktop plaques were a fun alternative to a traditional framed photo and with the new shapes Shutterfly offers, they spruced up our office perfectly. The perfect final touches to our new addition.

As you can see, there are so many more things to do on Shutterfly in addition to creating photo books.

The last personalized present I created was a photo blanket showing my two eldest kids wearing Mets shirts – Bill’s favorite team. I figured we could all wrap up in it while watching sports on Sunday night.

  2. Shutterfly is my favorite place to buy a gift for the person who has EVERYTHING! The products are unique and well made. I have been considering purchasing one of their metal photos. My father’s day gift wheels are turning in my head after this post!

  3. I love Shutterfly. I have been with the company for ages. They actually bought out Photo Works I think was the name of the place. You still sent in your 35mm film so some of my Shutterfly folders are super old.

  4. This would be a perfect fathers day gift for my Dad! I’ve been beating my head against the wall trying to decide because he has everything. Like you said he wants nothing and gives no clues of what to give him. Perfect ideas!

  5. My dad would totally love to have a photo mug or blanket. I’ve been looking at all of the product options at Shutterfly and I think that’s the route I’m going this year.

  6. I need to get something nice like this for my hubby on Father’s day. He doesn’t need anything but these personalized picture ideas would make him really happy!
