I just spent two slow, sunny nights in Westhampton Beach with my mom, and if you read my last post, you know the plan was to have no plan. We swam, we ate, we wandered, and we let the days unfold however they wanted to.

But “no plan” doesn’t mean we didn’t find some absolute gems. And here’s the fun part: Westhampton Beach’s Main Street is having a real moment right now. A handful of these spots are brand new. So, if you’ve written off Westhampton as sleepy, it’s time for a second look. The best part is that most of these places are a short stroll from each other, so you can park once and make a whole afternoon of it.
Here’s everywhere we went, and why each one is worth your time.

Start your morning with coffee at Brody’s
Brody’s Coffee is the cutest new addition to Main Street, and it stole my heart immediately. It’s a dog-friendly café (they even have a community bulletin board for customers’ pup photos), and the whole place has this laid-back, greenery-filled, no-pressure vibe.
Almost everything is made in-house, including the flavored syrups. They do fun signature lattes like a banana bread latte with banana cream cold foam, cookie butter, and pistachio cream. If you’re a matcha person like me, the honey lavender matcha is worth the trip. Grab your drink and stroll the town in the early morning quiet — it’s the perfect slow start.

Grab bagels at PopUp Bagels (yes, the viral ones)
If you’ve been on social media at all, you’ve probably seen PopUp Bagels. The famous “Grip, Rip and Dip” bagel brand just opened a permanent shop right here in Westhampton, and the line was already forming when we walked up.
Here’s the deal: they don’t slice them, they don’t toast them, and they don’t make sandwiches. You get hot, whole bagels by the dozen, and you tear off pieces and dip them into the schmears. The schmears change weekly. It’s simple, it’s a little different, and it’s exactly the kind of fun, shareable thing to do with your mom over coffee. Go early, because they do sell out.

Lunch or dinner at Flora
Flora was one of the highlights of our whole trip. It’s a New American, seafood-focused spot tucked just off one of the roundabouts at the edge of downtown, and walking in feels like stepping into a charming country house. There are flowers everywhere, a hanging trellis, soft light, and the kind of cozy-but-elevated feeling that makes you want to stay for hours.
The menu changes with the seasons, the cocktails are excellent, and the wedge salad gets talked about for a reason. They even sent us off with little packets of wildflower seeds, which felt very on-brand and very sweet. If you want a relaxed lunch on a sunny afternoon, this is your spot. Dinner is equally as good.

Waterfront views at Cowfish
A few minutes west in Hampton Bays, Cowfish is the move when you want water views with your meal. It sits right on the Shinnecock Canal, with boats docked at the edge and sunsets that’ll stop you mid-sentence. (Fun fact: it’s run by the same hospitality group as Flora, so you know the food is going to deliver.)
It’s New American with a fun, eclectic menu. People rave about the deviled eggs, the wedge salad, and the clam chowder that somehow keeps winning the local chowder contest. If you go for brunch, the bananas foster French toast is made for splitting. Time it for golden hour and thank me later.

Casual drinks at Westhampton Beach Brew & Grill
Right next door to Brody’s, Westhampton Beach Brew & Grill is the laid-back, sit-down spot from the team behind Westhampton Beach Brewing. It’s the perfect place to land when you want a craft beer and some easy, satisfying grill food without any fuss. We popped in for a relaxed drink, and it had exactly the friendly, local-hangout energy you want on a low-key getaway.

Do a little shopping at Generation Love
When we were ready to browse, Generation Love was calling my name. The contemporary women’s clothing brand that is known for that French-chic-meets-New-York-edge look, with pretty crystal accents, tweed sets, and floral pieces. They just opened a boutique right on Main Street. It’s feminine but with a little attitude, which is exactly my style.
It’s a fun place to pop into even just to look, and a great spot to find a dress for the next time you’ve got somewhere to be.

Bonus stop: Tanger Outlets in Riverhead
Since Riverhead is right on the way in or out, we made a quick stop at Tanger Outlets to do a little deal-hunting before heading home. It’s the perfect bookend to a Hamptons trip — pop in, grab a few scores, and keep the relaxed vibe going. (If you want my full game plan for shopping it smart, I wrote a whole separate post on that.)

The takeaway: Westhampton Beach is the easy, low-key Hamptons escape I always forget I love — close to home, walkable, and full of brand-new spots worth checking out. Park the car, stroll Main Street, eat well, shop a little, and soak up the sun. It made for the perfect mother-daughter weekend, and I have a feeling it could be yours too.
