I didn’t realize how badly I needed it until it was over.
That’s the honest truth. I drove out to the Hamptons last weekend for an event called The Alignment, and I thought I was just going to a fun workout by the water. A nice morning. Something to post about. What I didn’t expect was to come home feeling like someone had hit a little reset button on me.
Let me back up and tell you about it, because it was genuinely special.
A workout on the water (yes, on an actual dock)
The Alignment was held at Sundays on the Bay, right out on the pier with the water all around us. Picture about 100 content creators from Long Island and NYC, all gathered on the dock, sun on our faces, that fresh bay air coming off the water. It was the kind of setting that makes you stop and go, “Okay, I’m really lucky to be here.”

The workout itself was led by @motherhood.moves_, and let me just say … she did not go easy on us! LOL! Every squat, every lunge, every move she called out, I felt it. I was also wearing my Senita outfit, and I have to give it credit, because it handled every single thing she threw at us. No tugging, no adjusting, no wardrobe drama. Just me, sweating it out on a dock in the Hamptons, smiling like a goofball the whole time.
There’s something about moving your body outside, with the water right there and the sun coming up, that hits different than any gym ever could.

The fun stuff in between
After we worked up a sweat, there were all these wellness experiences set up around the venue, and I tried as many as I could. There was custom perfume making, where you mix your own scent, which felt fancy and a little magical. There was a color analysis station to figure out which colors actually work with your skin tone. And there was even EmSculpt, which I LOVE.
It was the kind of event where you bounce from one thing to the next, chatting with people, laughing, feeling like you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be. No rushing. No pressure. Just a few hours of doing things that made me feel good.

What I actually took home with me
Here’s the part I keep coming back to.
Lately, I’ve been reminded that self-care doesn’t always have to be another appointment, another treatment, or one more thing to check off the list. I do that all the time. I book the thing, I schedule the thing, I add the thing to my calendar like wellness is a chore I have to manage.
But this? This was different. Sometimes self-care is just getting outside. Moving your body. Soaking up the sun. Spending a few hours doing something that makes you feel like yourself again. That’s it. No appointment required.
And the community part snuck up on me too. Being around 100 other women who do what I do, all in one place, all showing up … it filled a tank I didn’t even know was running low. I’ve been in this content world for a long time, but I don’t always make myself get out and connect in person. This was me putting myself out there, and I’m so glad I did.

A huge thank you
A massive thank you to @misssaywhatsreal for hosting such an incredible event, and to Sundays on the Bay for being the perfect spot. You created something that gave a whole room of people permission to slow down for a change, and I think we all needed it more than we realized.
If you ever get the chance to do something like this – say yes!!!! Get outside, move your body, find your people. That’s the whole secret. ❤️
