Only 4% of the National Cancer Institute’s research budget is dedicated to pediatric cancers, making the donations from Kids Walk important to doctors and researchers at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK).

FACTS ABOUT PEDIATRIC CANCERS
- Childhood cancers are the leading cause of death by disease in children under the age of 15 in the U.S.
- Only 4% of federal funding for cancer research goes to pediatric cancers.
- Pediatric cancers are classified as a rare form of cancer.
- Because of advances in pediatric cancer research, more than 80% of childhood cancer patients in the U.S. now become long-term survivors.
Get Involved With The Kids Walk For Cancer
Step 1: Register at kidswalkmsk.org Become a team captain and start a team, join an existing team, or take part as an individual.
Step 2: Raise Money You’ll receive an online fundraising page, where you can share why you’re walking. We also have tons of fundraising tips and are happy to help!
Step 3: Walk! Gather in Central Park on May 5 to walk and celebrate the difference you’re making. There will also be music, activities, a speaking program, and much more!
Step 4: Research 100% of every dollar raised goes directly to pediatric cancer research at MSK.
