Reem Acra‘s Fall 2012 Collection was luxurious and full of the most decadent fabric, in a nutshell. Feminine power inspired the collection this season and it was evident through so many elements. From the fitted leather forerunners to the strong metallic dresses, these clothes are for the woman who is ready to take over a room.
The collection started off with fitted leather dresses in silhouettes that would be fitting for the workplace. The models strutted out with high ponytails and no nonsense minimal makeup. Next, there were career options with some jazz to them. Then, there were metallic dresses in gold and bronze. The fabrics used for these dresses were the highlight for me. They were exquisite. The fabrics and cut of the dresses fitted the body, flattering every curve. It’s easy to make metallics look cheap but that was far from where these looks were coming from. There were brocades and knits, alike. One of my favorite dresses is a black dress punctuated with sheer panels. The sheer carried the weight of the fabric effortlessly. The sexiness of the sheer was offset by the length of the dress. It was simply exquisite. I also spotted some high necks paired with short hemlines and long sleeves. High necks are so conservative so I was really excited to see it done in a sexy way in a metallic black.
I loved this collection and can see many of these dresses on the red carpet. For the actresses who love a simple silhouette but want a bit more drama, there’s a veritable mix of choices here.

Here are some of my shots from the runway. I couldn’t get the full dresses into the shot but you can see the richness of the fabric.
