Are you looking for a new fun, creative, and immersive adventure? Who’s not? My family is always “game” for a new adventure!! This is a fantastic, multi-platform game that’s really perfect for kids age 7-13, but I’d say my kids (9 and 11) are the “sweet spot”!!! The best part for me…it’s just good, kid-friend’y fun. There’s no inappropriate craziness to worry about.

Poptropica App Image

Poptropica®, created by Jeff Kinney, author of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, is a FREE-TO-PLAY virtual world enjoyed by millions of adventurous kids across the globe. In the cross-platform game, players explore a growing chain of islands, travel back in time, battle monsters, solve mysteries, and complete many quests that await in the kidSAFE-certified adventure.

You and your kids would be in some pretty impressive company, given that the game sees 2.2M web visitors per month generating a total of 120M page views!!! And, since it’s 2016 and all, the game sees 2.5M mobile (iOS, Android, and Amazon) visitors per month generating a total of 49M screen views. That’s bananas! Talk about engagement!!

In addition to the awesome game, there are some really fun books that pair oh so well with the game!! I love the tie in and I love, love, love that there’s a meeting of the video game and old-school book worlds. This is so important I think…don’t let books die out!!! LOL!! Here’s a great one that just came out this month:

Poptropica: Mystery of the Map is the first entry in an epic graphic novel series for children available in book stores NOW!!!  When Oliver, Mya and Jorge take a ride in a hot-air balloon, they crash-land on an unknown island filled with extinct animals and a horde of angry Vikings.

Both of my younger kids love poptropica. They are 7 & 9 years old (girl and boy). They play it all the time and I don’t mind at all b/c I find it safe and educational too.

I’m not much of a gamer, but they enjoy Poptropica, along with Minecraft, Club Penguin and Animal Jam.
