Back-to-school season is all about getting on a schedule, starting fresh and looking for great savings! My daughter is entering middle school this year, and we are so excited for her. But after-school activities will keep her on school grounds for a few extra hours a day, so my husband and I decided to get her a phone to make it easier for her to call home and reach us in case of an emergency.

Like many parents out there, we weren’t looking forward to taking on the expense of an additional cell phone. Luckily, Cricket Wireless has some back-to-school deals for people looking for a new smartphone for their student. Cricket is offering new and limited-time only device offers:

Buy the LG Spree for $19.99 and get a $20 Mail-In Rebate Cricket Visa Promotion Card1

This offer ends 9/8/16, while supplies last. You’ll receive your promo card within 8 weeks which can be used towards your wireless service! In order to get this, you’ll need to activate a qualifying plan (for a minimum of $40 a month) and make 2 service payments within 45 days. Also, price of phone + tax and 1st month’s service charge is due at sale. Up to $25 activation fee (or $0 if you purchase online!) and other fees, charges & restrictions apply. Click for offer details.

Cricket Wireless is the winner of Time: Money’s Best Cell Phone Plans for Light Users (Family) Award, and their Best Cell Phone Plans for Extreme Users (Individuals) Award!! Yes, you heard right.  What a PERFECT option if you’ve been considering buying a phone for your child. Heck, it’s even a great option for you! And the best news: With Cricket, unlike other carriers, there are no strings attached. When you sign up with Cricket Wireless, you’ll have no:

  • Annual contracts
  • Phone contracts
  • No Activation Fee for online orders!

Now’s the time to take advantage of this promotion and all of its benefits. And remember, no activation fee is for online only so be sure to check out to get started with your order!

Such a great deal! There’s even an option to bring the family in with “Group Save.” You can save up to $100 per month by adding eligible lines to your account2. WOOT WOOT! I have six lines on my family plan, with Group Save eligible for 5 of those lines. We have three in our house and also pay for my husband’s parents and my mother’s phone lines. It really makes sense to group lines together. The savings are significant!   A quick reminder: Group Save is not stackable with any Auto Pay discounts.

I don’t think my son is ready for a phone of his own yet, but I’ll definitely keep this option in mind in the future. I’ll probably get one for him in about a couple of years!

  8. I’m getting ready to share this with my sister. My niece is getting ready to turn 14 and has a cellphone and it has been a complete mess. Maybe this would be a better option for her. Great post!
