Every year, I gather around a very long table with family and friends and celebrate a holiday that I love with all my heart and soul. Thanksgiving. Why do I love this day? Because not only is it my favorite meal of ALL time (cranberry anyone?), but we all go around the table and say what we were thankful for over the last 12 months. We also remember the loved ones that we’ve lost. Both are so very important to do.
Confession: We don’t do this enough. In fact, we hardly do this at all during regular meal times. Perhaps that’s why Thanksgiving means so much to me. It gives me a moment to remember…
Dixie wants us to make a holiday promise this year and I know what mine is going to be.
I’m going to spend less time at the sink and more time in circles with my loved ones. I’m going to take pictures and tell stories. I’m going to pass my baby around and let all his cousins kiss his cheeks until he squirms. I’m going to love my children and watch them sit at the kids table pining for the adult one. I’m going to fully embrace this holiday – every last drop!
Speaking of every last drop — let’s talk about a two of my favorite recipes!
True story — I actually make broccoli casserole not string bean! And people FLIP out when I do because it’s unexpected and different. Why not give these two recipes a try this Thanksgiving for your family and friends.
I have some fun news — if you share your Thanksgiving Promise, you will get a Dixie Ultra Coupon. You can share it on Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest. So EASY. Click here to get started. You can also find more recipes on the site — lots of reasons to head on over.
So, what will your promise be this year for Thanksgiving?
