Limoncello Tiramisu Recipe – A Twist On The Classic Italian Recipe

​Classic tiramisu leans on a coffee profile, but this lemon tiramisu has its lady fingers soaked in lemon syrup and Italian lemon liqueur. It’s the perfect dessert for summer. The brightness of fresh lemons really lightens the profile of this dish, making it perfect for any family gathering you have coming up over the next few months.

Syrup Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1-1/4 cups water
  • 1 cup limoncello
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice

Syrup Directions:

Add sugar and water to a saucepan and heat over medium-high heat until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and stir in limoncello and lemon juice. Let stand to cool. 

Tiramisu Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 packages, 7 oz each, Ladyfinger cookies
  • 24 ounces mascarpone cheese
  • 1 jar, 12 oz, prepared lemon curd
  • 1/3 cup limoncello
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice

Tiramisu Directions: 

Add heavy whipping cream and granulated sugar to a stand mixer fitted with a whisk. Beat well until stiff peaks form, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from mixer and set aside. 

In a separate mixing bowl, and cheese and beat for about 30 seconds to combine. Add lemon curd, limoncello and lemon juice and beat until combined. Fold in reserved whipped topping and mix until combined.

Working with one ladyfinger at a time, dip both sides quickly into the cooled syrup and place into the bottom of the pan in a single layer. Fill the pan completely, cutting the ladyfingers if necessary to fit.

Spread half of the lemon filling on top of the ladyfingers. Repeat with a second layer of ladyfingers, dipping in syrup and adding on top of the cream. Follow by spreading the remaining cream on top. Cover and refrigerate overnight. 

Whipped Topping Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • zest of 1 lemon

Whipped Topping Directions: 

When ready to serve, beat whipped cream and powdered sugar together until stiff peaks form. Place into a pastry bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe topping onto tiramisu and top with lemon zest. 

Slice and serve immediately. Serves 18.
