After four seasons of viewing Farah Angsana’s line during New York Fashion Week, it comes as no surprise that I was yet again in awe of the couture that graced the runway. Angsana’s Fall/Winter 2012 collection was bold, beautiful, and demanded to be seen. The couture is diverse but unified in its luxury. Each ensemble was meant to be admired and celebrated, as they all embodied charisma and confidence that is not to be denied.
Angsana is no stranger to colors, introducing emerald green, scarlet red, tangerine, violet, and royal blue in addition to traditional fall tones such as black and beige, this season. A newcomer to the line was the use of chantilly lace, accenting the curves and sensuality of the woman who wears it. Crystal encrusted embellishments never fail to make an appearance, conveying a vibrant appearance, particularly among the bodice. Trends this season include silk chiffon, silk wool, lace silhouettes, and tweed lurex.
Angsana typically ends the show with a grand finale, this season being a bold blue scale embellished gown with tulle fabric allowing for perfectly situated revelations of the skin. This has been another striking and fearless presentation for the designer.
