Field Report: Costello Tagliapietra Spring/Summer 2012 Collection #NYFW

In a season of bright solids, Jeffrey Costello and Robert Tagliapietra’s collection featuring their batik-floral print stood out as something unique, and one of the must-have looks of the season. This gorgeous array of wear-anywhere dresses included some of the most wearable pieces of any collection I have attended.

Inspired by romance and flowers, the collection featured plunging V necklines, wrapped waists and lots of draping and folds creating looks that were both romantic and elegant while at the same time flattering to the wearer, what girl doesn’t like that?

The print, which looked like layer after layer of flower petals piled on top of one another, had a rich batik feel and the saturated earth tones color palate created an effect that would make any wearer look effortless and naturally gorgeous.
