Personally, I had to focus on just a handful of these renovations. A few years ago, I worked on a revamp but recently felt an update was in order.

It was important for me to work on swapping out the main color scheme of my bedroom since we were heading into the fourth quarter of the year. I didn’t want to repaint. So, instead, I decided to purchase a new comforter in a darker shade.

I also wanted to get blackout curtains. As a light sleeper, this has always been a huge problem for me. I thought this might be beneficial towards my normalizing sleeping pattern.

Lastly, it was time to upgrade our mattress. I have been sinking into the pit of despair for far too long and my back had been suffering because of it. Absolute pangs of pain for almost three years in a row! Why do we do this to ourselves?

My husband and I would get into bed and we would just sink right into these little cocoons. He would sweat and sink and I would just stay up all night. The lack of zzzs has affected my mood, my ability to function at work, and even how I relate to my children. But no more!
