Looking to refresh the look of your personal space at home? These easy bedroom makeover tips can transform your private abode into the personal escape you’ve been dreaming of without excess complication.

I recently decided to work on redoing my bedroom and honed in on a number of areas that needed some attention. Not only was I worried about style, but I also wanted to concentrate on comfort as well.

Humans spend a third of their days asleep which means that we spend a lot of time in our bedrooms. Because of this, it’s kind of important to make sure that we choose the right mattress to invest that much of our lives into, right? That’s why when I shopped around for this particular purchase, I needed to focus on function, design, and support.

Easy Bedroom Makeover Tips

Before starting your bedroom makeover, ask yourself what budget range you want to stick with. Next, jot down the several areas you need to focus on. Here are some suggestions:

  • Bedding
  • Photography
  • Shelving
  • Curtains
  • Mattress
  • End table accessories
  • Rugs
  • Throws / Throw pillows
  • Essential oil diffusers
  • Electronics
  • Wardrobes

Personally, I had to focus on just a handful of these renovations. A few years ago, I worked on a revamp but recently felt an update was in order.

new bedding

It was important for me to work on swapping out the main color scheme of my bedroom since we were heading into the fourth quarter of the year. I didn’t want to repaint. So, instead, I decided to purchase a new comforter in a darker shade.

black out curtains

I also wanted to get blackout curtains. As a light sleeper, this has always been a huge problem for me. I thought this might be beneficial towards my normalizing sleeping pattern.

Lastly, it was time to upgrade our mattress. I have been sinking into the pit of despair for far too long and my back had been suffering because of it. Absolute pangs of pain for almost three years in a row! Why do we do this to ourselves?

Sleep Number 360® Smart Bed

My husband and I would get into bed and we would just sink right into these little cocoons. He would sweat and sink and I would just stay up all night. The lack of zzzs has affected my mood, my ability to function at work, and even how I relate to my children. But no more!

We finally got rid of our mattress and replaced it with a Sleep Number 360® smart bed. Which one did we opt for? The Sleep Number i10. This particular mattress checked all of our boxes:

  • Adjustable comfort and firmness on each side
  • Responds to your movements and automatically adjusts firmness
  • Shows sleep quality—your SleepIQ® score via the app
  • Absorbs excess heat and releases it as you cool
  • Smart 3D fabric is up to 50% more breathable
bedroom updates

Let’s have a real talk for a moment. My husband is twice my size. When he used to move around in bed, I would practically LIFT OFF our old mattress. Anything he did would wake me up. It was unbearable.

Now, he can move around all he wants and I am not affected. It is marital bliss! And if I am thinking about his needs, he doesn’t sweat profusely at night anymore!

My husband used to never even sleep with a sheet on – he was THAT HOT with our old foam mattress. Now, he is as cool as a cucumber. We are two happy campers.

easy makeover tips for the bedroom

I can’t wait to give this mattress a few sleeps to truly be able to test it out. I will check back with you to let you know what I really think.

Right now, I THINK my Sleep Number setting is a 40 and my husband THINKS his setting is a 45, but we only had the smart bed for a few days. We aren’t sure yet! Stay tuned for the update!

These tips were helpful to me! The bedroom is our place of filling forces, it should be as comfortable and cozy as possible, the curtains are thick – for a comfortable sleep, and the mattress is comfortable. The dressing room is better to transform glass closet doors, here https://doors22.com/comparison-of-sliding-glass-closet-doors-choose-wisely/ you can find more information about them. This should be the most atmospheric place that you don’t want to leave.
