Costello Tagliapietra Backstage Coverage NYFW ’11

Nelson Vercher, renowned stylist of the Rita Hazan Salon, easily depicts designer Costello Tagliapietra’s inspiration during his runway show at Milk Studios on Friday, February 11th at 3:00PM. The look is a reflection of the late 1960’s and early 1970’s suburban housewives, when women had just begun enjoying their independence.  It’s a loose and sexy appeal that celebrates the modern women who typically wears their hair flat and straight, but instead Nelson creates this unique look which expresses femininity, passion, and eccentric style.

Get the look:

Apply Phyto mousse on wet hair and Phyto volume at the root to create texture and lift

Rough dry the hair, concentrating on the root for maximum volume and smoothing ends

Tease at the root, use a barrel curling iron at the ends to create subtle waves, and smooth the look with a hairbrush
