A few weeks ago, I attended the Kids Food Festival in NYC on behalf of ConAgra Foods’ Child Hunger Ends Here program. This program was started to help bring awareness to food insecurity and child hunger in America. We had such an amazing time — to read the full recap of that event, click here.
Today, I am happy to announce an update! Child Hunger Ends Here is continuing their efforts to raise awareness about child hunger and has enlisted bloggers and photographers to travel around the country and put a face to local “hunger heroes” – those people who are leading the way to ending child hunger. What a great program! It starts with an individual, right? Someone who has passion and drive and desire to see change and make a difference. Well, Child Hunger Ends Here wants to highlight these people and tell their stories. Who knows? Maybe if enough people hear these beginnings, they will get inspired to start a program of their own?!
Follow these stories on Facebook and with the hashtag #FacesBehindHunger on Instagram or by going to www.ChildHungerEndsHere.com for updates.
And great news! From March through August, Child Hunger Ends Here will also provide ten $10,000 donations to Feeding America food banks in select areas where these stories are uncovered. One of the donations will go to the Food Bank for New York City located in The Bronx. Ah-mazing!
I’m so thankful to now know about this organization. My children and I are still thinking about a way to do more within our own community. Child Hunger Ends Here certainly got our wheels spinning!
