CEW Product Demo Event

The CEW (Cosmetic Executive Women) Demo Event was WAW, to say the least. This is my first year attending (yes, I’m tardy to the party) and I was not prepared for the beauty extravaganza that lay ahead of me. There were more than 620 beauty brands. There were all set up, with their products, ready to talk about them. These products were entered in the CEW Beauty Insiders’ Choice Awards, which will be on May 18th. Of note, this year, is the Indie Beauty Award for companies less than 5 years old that are independently owned. Also, I was excited to see the Eco Beauty Award entries for the beauty product or product line that has moved towrds the goal of sustainability.

This is Salma Hayek‘s line of products.

We also got a chance to sit with Carlotta Jacobson, the president of CEW, and hear her thoughts on the show. Here are some of the points she mentioned that you might find interesting:

–Multi-purpose products are huge, right now (e.g. eye shadow that works as blush).

–Nails are a new hit for this show. The options for nails are expanding beyond basic polish.

–Primers and foundations that are treatment oriented are also having their moment.

–There’s been no big advances in fragrances except that the prestige business is through the roof.

–Devices are the next big thing.

Here are some pics from the show.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be trying out some of the products I received in the gift bag and sharing my thoughts on them with you. Be sure to let me know which you like.

Attending the CEW Product Demo Event was such a great experience! I can’t wait for the Awards event on May 18 to see who won. Go to www.cew.org for more info.

I like Salma's hair products. I have a few of them that I use often to work with frizz.
