We are truly a board game family. The four of us frequently gather around a table and turn off the TV. It’s how I grew up and I think it’s important for my kids to have the same experience. For my daughter’s birthday, a friend gave us Scrabble Junior and we’ve been hooked every since. It’s a double sided board that will grow with your children. One side is traditional – only housing empty squares for your kids to fill with whatever words they come up with.

For the younger ones, there’s this side —-

The words are already in place. They just have to match the letters they have in their hand with an open letter. Trick is you have to start at the beginning of the word. So, there is some thought that has to go into it. WE LOVE IT.

Every time you match a word, you get a red triangle which denotes the point. At the end of the game, everyone scores. Liam and Natalie actually tied over the weekend with 8 words each. It’s a lot of fun and just perfect for kids that are 5 and up.

Scrabble: Junior Edition retails for $15 online.
