A few weeks ago, the family took a trip down to Florida and had the opportunity to visit the Kennedy Space Center. It has always been a dream of ours to visit and bring the kids. As a child, I never had the chance to go and I thought it would be both educational and fun — what more could a parent ask for?
We stayed at The Hard Rock Hotel and had to drive over to the center. Luckily, we were on a press trip with Kia! They supplied every family with a Sedona to test out and enjoy. I am not a minivan mom. I’m not going to lie. When I found out that I was pregnant with my third child, the very first thing I told my husband was that we weren’t getting a minivan. No, really.
Ok, it was more like…
“I’m so excited. We’re pregnant!! We’re not getting a minivan.”
I’m paraphrasing, but you catch my drift. So, this truly was my first time taking my family around in a minivan and giving it an unbiased shot.
The Kia Sedona is roomy which I expected… but it’s luxuriously roomy. It didn’t feel like I thought it would. I felt like I was in my own car – one that had all the bells and whistles that I paid for to make me feel good during a long haul. Yet, I was in a minivan.
It also gives you several configuration options which is such a PERK for families. Whether we are skiing or traveling with extra baggage, car-pooling with a few friends or doing a heavy load of grocery shopping, this car can manage my needs.
I also love the automated doors. I know this is a GIVEN for minivan owners but I DON’T HAVE THIS FEATURE and it is EVERYTHING.
While I wasn’t able to use this feature in the Sedona since we were testing it out in the Spring and in Florida, I can’t show you any photos… but I LOVED that the Sedona has heated outside mirrors and rear glass. As someone who lives in NY and has had her fair share of blizzards, this is APPRECIATED.
Last by not least, the Kia Sedona gave my entire family the ability to spread out, enjoy our long car ride, and not worry about making a huge mess. Why? Because the Kia Sedona’s YES Essentials® seat fabric helps protect against stains, static, and odors. WHAT? A mother’s dream!

*Kia invited my family to Orlando to test drive the Sedona. All opinions are my own.
I loved the Kennedy Space Center when I went a few years back. I would love to bring my kids with me next time.
Looks like an amazing time with the family! I need to check out the Sedona. Having four kids, including toddler twins, I need space and it looks plenty here. Once again Kia hits a homerun!
Those heats outside mirrors would be AWESOME! I know how it is in the winter with snow and cold on these things! I have been dying to go to NASA! I know my son would love it!
We have Kias are love both of them! The Space Center looks like a place that my kids would have a “blast” at!
I’ve been drooling over a Kia Sedona and now even more so after seeing your pictures and experience. What a great car and I said I would NEVER own a Minivan…..
I’ve never been into mini-vans myself. Those rear seats grabbed my attention, the fact that they recline a bit is so cool!
You were in my area – we love the space center. It’s a fun place for the fam. And the sedona rocks – we had a week long trip in one and it was great.
I love that this van has so much space! I actually want to get a mini van, but my husband doesn’t haha! I think it would be great to have. I only have two daughters, but I love to take others out all the time. I do daycare sometimes as well, so having a vehicle with space is what I need.
Looks like you had a blast (get it a BLAST)! I didn’t think I’d be a minivan mom, but I can’t go back now that I’ve gotten used to all the space. That Sedona is gorgeous!
I loved watching your snaps from this trip, looked like so much fun! This mini van looks like it might sway my mind too!
I drove one last summer and my favorite part of that vehicle was the extending foot rests in the back seat. I can’t even tell you how much I love those.
